Two Kurdish prisoners executed in Kermanshah Central Prison: Ali Karimi and Ali Astan

The death sentences of Ali Karimi and Ali Astan, two Kurdish prisoners previously convicted of “premeditated murder” by the Iranian judiciary, were carried out in Kermanshah Central Prison (Dizelabad).

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place at dawn on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Kermanshah Central Prison.

The prisoners have been identified as Ali Karimi, aged 42, father of two children, and Ali Astan, aged 25, both residents of Kermanshah.

Sources familiar with the cases reported that Ali Karimi had been arrested five years ago on charges of murder during a group fight in Ban Rivand village in the Sarfiroozabad district of Kermanshah.

Ali Astan was arrested one year ago on charges of killing two individuals named Sadegh Atefi and Ghorban Azami in the Maskan neighborhood of Kermanshah.

Both men were subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Their executions have not been announced by Iranian state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
