Three Kurdish men executed in Urmia Central Prison

Three Kurdish men, identified as Mohammadreza Badavi, Reza Molaei, and Mehdi (last name unknown), were executed in Urmia Central Prison after being sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentences of Badavi, aged 47, a father of four from the village of Kusi in the Nazlou district of Urmia; Molaei, aged 48, from the village of Qolanchi in the Anzal district of Urmia; and Mehdi, whose surname remains unidentified and who was also from Urmia, were carried out at around 1 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Urmia Central Prison.

Sources informed Hengaw that Badavi and Molaei had been arrested six years ago, and Mehdi at an earlier date, all on similar drug-related charges. They were later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The executions of these prisoners have not been reported by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
