Iran carries out executions of nine prisoners in seven facilities

Iranian authorities have carried out the executions of nine prisoners in seven detention facilities across the country, including Kashmar, Shiraz, Karaj, Mashhad, Malayer, Shahrekord, and Ardabil.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out over several days and involved prisoners who had previously been sentenced to death by Iran’s judiciary on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related crimes.”

Karamali Khani, from Kashmar in Razavi Khorasan province; Ehsan Dehqanpanah, from Shiraz; and Mohsen Jadidi and Manouchehr Niazi were executed in detention facilities in Kashmar, Shiraz, and Ghezel Hesar in Karaj during the early hours of Wednesday, December 31, 2025. All four had been convicted on charges of “premeditated murder.”

Mehran Hosseini, Keramat Safari, and Moslem Rafiinia were also executed on the same day in detention facilities in Mashhad and Malayer. These three prisoners had been convicted on charges related to “drug-related crimes.”

Hojjat Amini-Zadeh, who had been convicted on charges of “premeditated murder,” was executed at Shahrekord Detention Facility during the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Ali Joveyani, a 27-year-old Turkish man from Parsabad in Ardabil province, was executed at Ardabil Central Detention Facility during the early hours of Sunday, December 28, 2025. He had been arrested four years earlier on charges of “premeditated murder” related to a street altercation and was later sentenced to death.

The executions of these prisoners have not been announced by state-run media, particularly outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
