Iranian crackdown in Isfahan leaves five civilians dead

Five individuals, Sepehr Mousavifar, Mohammad Jabbari, Esfandiar Kashizadeh, Rasheed Saleh, and Mohammad Kiani, were killed by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces during the recent protests in Isfahan.
According to Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sepehr Mousavifar, also known as Abolfazl Mousavifar, was an 18-year-old resident of Fuladshahr, Isfahan. He was shot in the head with live ammunition by Iranian government forces in front of the Justice Department building in Isfahan on Friday, January 9, 2026.
On the same day, Mohammad Jabbari, aged 26, was killed after being shot by Basij forces in the town of Dizicheh, Isfahan.
Hengaw has also verified the identities of Esfandiar Kashizadeh, Rasheed Saleh, and Mohammad Kiani, who were killed during the same day’s violent crackdown by Iranian authorities on protesters in Isfahan.
