Kurdish artist Amin Naseri shot and arrested by Iranian forces in Ilam

Amin Naseri, a 27-year-old Kurdish artist and singer from Asmanabad in Chardavol County, Ilam Province, was shot and wounded by Iranian security forces before being arrested.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Naseri, who is from the Asmanabad area and lives in the Soltangholi Sofla neighborhood of Chardavol County, was arrested on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Eyewitnesses told Hengaw that a large number of security forces’ vehicles surrounded Naseri while he was on the side of a road. The forces shot him in the back of the leg and lower back before arresting him while wounded.

Naseri had previously been arrested and was wanted by security agencies in connection with the January 2026 protests.
