Protests – Mass detentions, including 33 women and three children, in three cities

At least 106 Lors, including 33 women and three children, have been detained by government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the cities of Yasuj, Bahmai, and Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, according to findings verified by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights. Of the total number detained, 82 people, including 28 women and three children, were arrested in Yasuj.
Five residents of Yasuj, including one child, were among those detained after government forces carried out arrests in the city on Monday, January 5, 2026. Those arrested were Mehdi Hatami, Hossein Ahmadi, Afshin Najafi, Ramin Mohammadzadeh, and Mohammadreza Heydari, a 17-year-old child.
Mohammadreza Heydari was arrested on one of the streets of Yasuj, while the other four individuals were detained at their homes with the use of violence and without the presentation of any warrants, according to informed sources.
Seventy-seven additional residents of Yasuj, including 28 women and two children, were also detained during a series of arrests carried out between Thursday, January 2, and Sunday, January 5, 2026. Eleven of those detained were transferred to the Yasuj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center. The names of these individuals are listed below.

Eleven individuals, including two women and two children, were transferred to the Yasuj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center following their arrest in Yasuj on Saturday, January 3, 2026. They were identified as:
Kiarash Ansari (18), Yashar Shahbazi (17), Mohammad Mokhtari (17), Mikail Mansouri, Mohammad Poursheh, Parsa Akaber, Meraj Abbasnejad, Erfan Rahmanpour (18), Ahmad Ansari (18), Parichehr Ansari, and Raziyeh Khahesh (19).
Five residents of Gachsaran—Roghieh Yousefi, Negar Yousefi, Mohsen Sabzizadeh, Hossein Rezaei, and Akbar Parand—were also detained during arrests carried out in the city on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Five additional individuals, including two women, were later detained in Gachsaran. Those arrested were Mohammad Miri, Ghasem Mahmoudi, Kianoush Noshadi, Nazgol Mohammadi, and Mehraneh Mousavipour, according to reports received by Hengaw.
Three residents of Bahmai, identified as Nahid Sahabi, Abolfazl Khodadadi, and Saber Vafaei, were also arrested in the city and transferred to undisclosed locations.
No precise information is available regarding the charges brought against these individuals or their current whereabouts.
