December Protests – 13 Kurds arrested in Marivan, Tehran, Ilam, Darreh Shahr, Sarpol-e Zahab, Harsin, and Ivan-e Gharb

As the recent wave of arrests continues, at least thirteen Kurdish individuals have been detained by Iranian government forces and transferred to undisclosed locations.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has confirmed the identities of those arrested as Shahriar Sadeghi, Mohammad Sadeghi, Morteza Hosseini, Ehsan Hosseini, Mohammad Barari, Javad Pashaei, Reza Nazarali, Peyman Asl-Marz, Alireza Basat-Zadeh, Hamzeh Nouri, Seyed Nima Khamoushi, Amir Houshang Heidari, and Amirreza Soleimani.

Hengaw confirmed that two brothers from Marivan—Shahriar Sadeghi (22) and Mohammad Sadeghi (25)—were arrested by intelligence forces at the Sarvabad checkpoint, located in Sanandaj City, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Mohammad Barari, a resident of Javanrud, was arrested in Tehran on Tuesday, January 6. On the same day, Javad Pashaei (34), Reza Nazarali (21), both from Ilam, and Peyman Asl-Marz (18) from Darrehshahr, Ilam Province, were also detained by government forces.

Earlier, Alireza Basat-Zadeh, a Yarsani resident of Sarpol-e Zahab in Kermanshah Province, and Hamzeh Nouri, a resident of Kianshahr in Kermanshah, were arrested by agents of the Intelligence Ministry on Monday, January 5, without court warrants. Hengaw sources report that Alireza Basat-Zadeh was arrested over a social media post expressing support for the protests.

Additionally, Morteza Hosseini and Ehsan Hosseini, two young men from Harsin, were arrested on Sunday, January 4, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

In a related development, on Thursday, January 1, Seyed Nima Khamoushi, a 20-year-old Yarsani from Kermanshah; Amir Houshang Heidari from Ivan-e Gharb, Ilam Province; and Amirreza Soleimani, a 17-year-old minor from Kangavar, Kermanshah Province, currently residing in Tehran, were arrested by government forces. Amirreza Soleimani was detained during protests at Tehran’s Grand Bazaar.

No precise information has been released regarding the detention locations, legal status, or charges brought against those arrested.
