December Protests – Iranian forces detain six more people

At least six people, including two women and two teachers, have been detained by Iranian government forces in Tehran, Sabzevar, Mahdishahr in Semnan Province, Mehristan, and Isfahan, as arrests linked to the December Protests continue.
 
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hamid Rahmati, a retired teacher and member of the board of the Teachers’ Trade Association in Shahreza, and Abolfazl Rahimi-Shad, also a retired teacher, were detained at their homes in Tehran during arrests carried out on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
 
Fatemeh Hataminejad, 20, from Sabzevar, was detained by Iranian forces in the city on the same day.
 
Rouhollah Arab, a resident of Mahdishahr in Semnan Province, was detained at his home on Tuesday evening, January 6, 2026.
 
Earlier, Helia Rahmani, an 18-year-old Lor-Bakhtiari woman, was detained on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in Isfahan, along with Khodamorad Albarznejad (Abdolzehi), a Baloch man from Mehristan.
 
All of the detainees were transferred to undisclosed locations, and no information has so far been made available regarding the charges against them, their place of detention, or their current fate.
