Iranian government forces arrest four Turks in Zanjan Province

At least four Turkish people have been arrested by Iranian government forces in Tarom County, located in Zanjan Province. The detainees have been identified as Javad Safari, Fatemeh Safari, Seyyed Sadraddin Mousavi, and Seyyed Khalil Mousavi.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, two retired teachers from Tarom — Javad Safari and Fatemeh Safari — were arrested on January 24, 2026, and transferred to Zanjan Prison.

As part of the recent wave of widespread detentions, Seyyed Khalil Mousavi and his brother, Seyyed Sadraddin Mousavi, both residents of Tarom, were also arrested by government forces. No information has been released regarding their whereabouts or condition.

No official details have been provided concerning the charges against these four individuals or their legal status.
