Siamak Rashed killed by direct gunfire from Iranian forces in Tehran

Siamak Rashed, a resident of Tehran, was killed after being shot by Iranian government forces during public protests in the city.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rashed, approximately 54 years old and a father of three, was shot dead during protests in District 15 of Tehran on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Informed sources told Hengaw that government forces used live ammunition, and that Rashed was struck by bullets fired from a Kalashnikov rifle.

Hengaw has previously published verified video evidence documenting the recent crackdown in Tehran, indicating that Iranian military and security forces have carried out extrajudicial killings of unarmed civilians by opening direct fire on protesters during these demonstrations.
