Iranian forces kill Arshia Hozouri in Tehran

Arshia Hozouri, a young resident of Tehran, was shot dead by Iranian government forces during the recent protests in the capital.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hozouri, 25, was killed at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, after being directly shot by government forces in Tehran.

Sources close to the Hozouri family told Hengaw that he was shot in the forehead from an approximate distance of 40 meters on Shaghayegh Street, Ferdows Boulevard, and died instantly.

Hengaw has also learned that Iranian authorities demanded 700 million tomans from the family in exchange for handing over his body.
