Five Kurds arrested in Ilam Province

Five Kurdish individuals have been arrested by Iranian government forces in Ilam Province, according to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights. The arrests took place between February 1 and February 22, 2026, across four cities in the province. Details are as follows:
Abdanan
Yaqoub Mohammadi, a Kurdish teacher employed by the Department of Education in Abdanan, was arrested by government forces on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Hengaw has learned that following protests in Abdanan in response to his arrest, Mohammadi was released on Sunday.
Asemanabad
Amirhosam Sohrabnia, 18, and Amirhossein Sohrabnia, 22 — two Kurdish brothers from Asemanabad — were arrested during a raid by government forces on their family home on February 21, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Ilam
Siros Mirnaseri, a resident of Ilam, was arrested by government forces on Saturday, February 14, 2026. No information has been released regarding his whereabouts or condition.
Malekshahi
Malek Nikbakht, 21, a resident of Malekshahi County, was arrested on February 1, 2026. Since then, no information has been made available regarding his place of detention or legal status.
