Hengaw – Saturday, February 28, 2026

The death sentence of Soheila Asadi, a 30-year-old woman from Kashan who had previously been convicted of “premeditated murder” by the Iranian judiciary, was carried out in Isfahan Central Prison. She was a victim of child and forced marriage.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, her execution was carried out at dawn on Monday, February 23, 2026, in Isfahan Central Prison, also known as Dastgerd Prison.

Asadi had been arrested approximately four years ago on charges of killing her fiancé and was later sentenced to death.

Informed sources stated that she had been in a long-term relationship with another man, and the two had planned to marry. However, her father reportedly forced her into marrying a man named Alireza against her will. Under severe family pressure and trapped in an unwanted marriage, Asadi ultimately killed her fiancé at her parental home by administering poisonous medication while no one else was present.

State-affiliated media, particularly outlets close to the judiciary, have not announced news of her execution.
