At least six Kurds, including one child and one university student, arrested across several cities

Iranian government forces have arrested at least six Kurds in Ashkhaneh, Oshnavieh, Sirvan, Zanjan, Kamyaran, and Sanandaj, all of whom remain in legal uncertainty, according to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
Those detained include one child and one university student. The arrests occurred in recent weeks as part of an ongoing wave of pressure and detentions targeting Kurdish individuals.
Details are as follows:
Ashkhaneh (North Khorasan Province)
Adel Rais Qanavati, a Kurdish resident of Ashkhaneh, was arrested without a court warrant by government forces on January 24, 2026. In later phone calls to his family, he reported that he is being held in the quarantine ward of Bojnord Prison.
Oshnavieh (Shno)
Ahad Mihankhah, an 18-year-old Kurdish resident of Oshnavieh, was arrested by government forces on January 24, 2026. No information has since been released regarding his fate or place of detention.
Sirvan County (Ilam Province)
Arash Azizi, a 16-year-old child from the village of Bozhan in Sirvan County, was arrested during a violent raid by government forces on his family home on January 14, 2026, without presentation of a warrant. He was taken to an undisclosed location, and his fate remains unknown.
Zanjan
Diako Rajabi, 24, a Kurdish student of nutrition at Zanjan University, was arrested during protests in the city on January 9, 2026. According to informed sources, he was detained by government forces near Saadi Street after finishing his work shift at a café where he was employed. He was transferred to an undisclosed location, and no further information is available about his status.
Kamyaran
Ebrahim Rostami, a Kurdish resident of Kamyaran and father of two, was arrested by government forces on January 9, 2026, and transferred to Sanandaj for interrogation. Despite the passage of more than one month, no information has been provided regarding his fate or place of detention, and his family’s inquiries have remained unanswered.
Sanandaj (Sine)
Akam Zandi, an 18-year-old Kurdish resident of Sanandaj, was arrested during an armed raid by government forces on his family home on the evening of January 9, 2026, and transferred to Shahramfar Detention Center in Sanandaj. More than a month after his arrest, no information has been released about his condition or legal status.
