Seven Kurdish women remain detained without charge in Ilam

Seven Kurdish women from Ilam were arrested during protests in the city and remain held at Ilam Central Prison. The detainees are Aida Aramesh, Zeynab Tahmasb, Hajar Khaledi, Donya Sadeqi, Fatemeh Parivashi, Soha Masoudi, and Sadaf Qasemi.

Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the women were detained by Iranian government forces during protests in January and have since remained imprisoned at Ilam Central Prison.

Aida Aramesh was transferred to prison while injured after being struck by pellet gunfire. Reports indicate that multiple pellets were lodged in her head and legs at the time of her detention.

Iranian authorities have not disclosed the reasons for the arrests or any charges against the seven women. They continue to be held without charge at Ilam Central Prison.
