Behzad Bozorgzadeh, a 36-year-old Baloch artist and athlete, remains detained at Zahedan Central Prison more than two months after his arrest, with his legal status unresolved.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Bozorgzadeh, a guitarist and medalist in international K-1 martial arts and boxing competitions, was arrested by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence in Chabahar on June 7, 2026.
Plainclothes Intelligence Ministry agents arrested Bozorgzadeh outside his workplace near Taavon and Towhid streets in Chabahar without presenting a warrant.
During his detention, Bozorgzadeh has been subjected to severe physical and psychological pressure aimed at extracting forced confessions. Under these conditions, he was forced to sign blank or unspecified documents without being informed of their contents.
Bozorgzadeh last spoke with his family by telephone around June 20. Since then, he has been denied phone calls, visits and other contact with his family. Judicial authorities have also declined to provide his family, including his brother, with clear information about his case and current legal status.
