Iranian authorities subject protest detainee Artin Salari to severe torture to force confession

Artin Salari, a 20-year-old Lor man from Nurabad Mamasani in Fars province who was arrested during the December protests, has been subjected to severe physical and psychological torture.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Salari is currently being held in harsh conditions in Nurabad Central Prison.

Iranian judicial and security authorities have accused him of setting fire to the Nurabad courthouse during the protests.

Salari has been subjected to severe torture in an effort to force him to confess to the accusation.
