Hengaw – Saturday, April 4, 2026
Bakhtiar Rezvani, a Lor teacher and teachers’ union activist from Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, remains in detention nearly one month after his arrest and has been subjected to severe physical abuse during interrogations.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rezvani is being held in legal limbo in Gachsaran Central Prison, with no clear information available about his legal status.
Sources close to his family stated that he was subjected to severe physical violence during interrogations and sustained serious injuries to his wrists, legs, and ribs.
Hengaw has learned that Iranian authorities have charged him with “propaganda against the state,” “assembly and collusion against national security,” and “disrupting public order.” Rezvani was arrested on Monday, March 8, 2026, by Intelligence Ministry forces at his home in Gachsaran.
He has previously been arrested and convicted due to his union activities. In August last year, the Revolutionary Court of Gachsaran sentenced him to pay a fine of nine million tomans in place of imprisonment.
