Hengaw – Monday, June 1, 2026
Iranian authorities executed two prisoners, Hassan Tahmasebi and Kouhyar Abbasi, in Qorveh Central Prison after they were convicted of rape in connection with a case involving a 14-year-old boy.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Qorveh Central Prison.
The two men, identified as Hassan Tahmasebi, 52, and Kouhyar Abbasi, 37, both from Qorveh, had been sentenced to death on charges of aggravated rape of a 14-year-old child laborer. Iranian judicial authorities also accused them of filming the abuse for the purpose of blackmail and extortion.
Tahmasebi and Abbasi were arrested in late August 2024 following an investigation into the case of Farid Sadeghi, a 14-year-old child laborer from the village of Chamgholu Ganji in Qorveh.
Hengaw had previously reported that Sadeghi died by suicide on Aug. 12, 2024, after enduring more than a year of sexual abuse, psychological pressure and financial extortion by the two men.
The death sentences were ultimately carried out in Qorveh Central Prison on Monday morning.
