Gilak prisoner Mojtaba Salahi Laghani executed in Rasht Central Prison

Iranian authorities executed Mojtaba Salahi Laghani, a Gilak prisoner previously sentenced to death on a charge of “premeditated murder,” in Rasht Central Prison (Lakan Prison).

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Salahi Laghani, from Laghan village in Shaft County, Gilan Province, was executed at dawn on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Informed sources said Salahi Laghani was arrested by law enforcement forces about four years ago on a charge of “premeditated murder” and subsequently sentenced to qisas (retributive justice) by the Iranian judiciary.

His execution has not been announced by state media or institutions affiliated with the judiciary.
