Three prisoners, including a woman, executed in Mashhad

Fatemeh Jahangard, Mehrdad Mokhtari, and Mohammadreza Mohammadparast were executed at Mashhad Central Prison (Vakilabad Prison). The three prisoners had been sentenced to death in separate cases on charges of “premeditated murder.”

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Jahangard, 40, Mokhtari, 24, and Mohammadparast, 27, were all residents of Mashhad.

Informed sources said Jahangard had been arrested five years earlier in connection with the killing of her husband. Mohammadparast was arrested four years earlier on a charge of killing his mother’s partner, while Mokhtari was arrested the same year on a charge of “premeditated murder.” All three were subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

State-affiliated media, including Khorasan newspaper and Etemad Online, reported only Mohammadparast’s execution, briefly referring to him without his surname. The executions of Jahangard and Mokhtari have not been reported by state-affiliated media.
