Hengaw: A Kurdish prison from Salmas district of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province died due to a delay in transferring him to medical centers.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, June 2, 2021, a 55-year-old prisoner from Salmas, identified as “Shamsuddin Tatari”,  died in Urmia Central Prison due to a delay in transferring to the medical centers after suffering a heart attack.

Shamsuddin Tatari was arrested two years ago on charges of drug trafficking and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
