Hengaw: A citizen from Urmiyeh who had been detained in 2018 by the Iranian security forces, has been sentenced to imprisonment by Iranian judicial system and  today will be tried on another case.

According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the late 2019, a prisoner from Dizaj village located in Margavar district in Urumiyeh named Shaker Behrouzi has been sentenced to 5 years in prison by Urmiyeh revolutionary court presided by judge Shekhlu.

Based on an informed source, the verdict has been issued due to the membership in  Democratic party of Iranian Kurdistan and he has been denied an attorney during trial.

Shaker Behrouzi was a member of Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan for seven months. He returned to Iran after his separation from the party and was arrested by the intelligence agency of Urumiyeh on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Shaker (Farhad) Behrouzi transferred last year for some days to the Urmiyeh central prison and then transferred to the individual cells of intelligence agency and in the end transferred again to the Urumiyeh prison in March 2019.

Based on a close relative of Shaker Behrouzi, he has been tortured for one year and nine days in individual cells to confess the terror of a Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members named Mamel Mohammadi.

Mamel Mohammadi was a member of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who was killed by an unknown armed group on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Margavar district of Urumiyeh. After that, the Zagros Eagles, a military group affiliated with Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan took responsibility for the operation.

Based on the same source, Shaker Behrouzi will be tried for this case on Saturday, March 28, 2020 by Urumiyeh military court.
