Hengaw : Two workers from Kermanshah lost their lives due to a mine explosion in one of the neighborhoods of this city, which was a war waste.
According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, two young workers named "Mohammad Bazvand" and "Mohammad Rasoul Rahimi-Sorkhundi" lost their lives as a result of a mine explosion on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Hafez Street, located in the Jafarabad neighborhood of Kermanshah.
A relative of these two citizens confirmed the news to Hengaw saying that : "These two citizens who were buying and selling waste on Hafez Street and were melting the waste they had bought a few days ago with an air-gas device on the day of the accident. ”.
The source further stated that one of them had his arms and legs and another had his head cut off as a result of the explosion.
According to statistics released by the Statistics and Documentation Data Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, 16 workers, farmers and ranchers have been targeted by landmines in Iranian Kurdistan over the past year, whom five of them lost their lives.
