As a result of the explosion of landmines left over from the 8-year war between Iran and Iraq, Abdul Hossein Qadimi from the village of "Kol-Kol Asman" in Chardavol County, Ilam Province, died due to severe injuries.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, February 20, 2023, Abdul Hossein Qadimi died due to a landmine explosion in the Mimak border region.
It should be noted that the brother and nephew of this old man also lost their lives in the same area due to a landmine explosion a few years ago.
According to data recorded in the Hengaw organization's statistics and documentation office, at least 6 Kurdish citizens were killed and 30 were injured due to landmine explosions in the provinces of Ilam, Kermanshah, Kurdistan (Sanandaj), and West Azerbaijan (Urmia) in 2022.
