Kurdish child arrested in Mahabad faces torture and forced confession

Zakaria Khizirpour, a Kurdish child who was arrested by Iranian government forces a month ago, is under pressure and torture.

According to the report received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, on Friday, November 18, 2022, 16-year-old Zakaria Khizirpour was arrested on his way home.

According to informed sources, Zakaria Khizripour was severely tortured while in detention with his eyes closed, and he was forced to sign papers that he did not read or see.

After a month of torture and being in solitary cells in Iranian security detention centers in Urmia, Zakaria Khizirpour has been transferred to the correctional center of this city.

Currently, Zakaria Khizirpour's health condition is unknown, as is his fate.
