The 29th Branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran, headed by Judge Syed Ali Mazloum, sentenced Sasan Chamanara, an artist from Ilam, to 5 years in prison.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, a sentence of 5 years imprisonment has been issued against this 33-year-old citizen for the charges of "gathering and collusion against national security and propaganda against the regime."

According to the relatives of Chamanara's family, Sasan Chamanara's lawyer had access to his case only once before the court was held, and he was not given enough time to present his defense.

Sasan Chamanara has also been repeatedly tortured at the detention facility and has only made one brief phone call to his family, in addition to not being allowed to have a lawyer until the day of the trial.

Sasan Chamanara was detained by government authorities on Friday, October 7, 2022, and spent 21 days in the IRGC intelligence detention center and 18 days in the Ministry of Intelligence's Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
