After only twenty-four hours of the arrest of two Mullahs from Piranshahr, two others, Mullah Sayed Solayman Ahmadi and Mullah Yunis Nokhah were also arrested by government forces.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on January 24, 2023, Iranian government forces arrested Mullah Yunis Nokhah and Mullah Sayyed Solayman Ahmadi from Piranshahr. The two Mullahs are lecturers at the Salahuddin Ayoubi School of Religious Sciences in Piranshahr.
It is noteworthy that Mullah Yunis Nokhah, a teacher at the Salahuddin Ayoubi School of Religious Sciences, was recently sentenced to two years and six months in prison by the Special Clerical Court of Urmia.
Earlier on January 23, 2023, Mullah Mohammad Jamaluddin Vaji and Mullah Sharif Mahmoodpour, two clerics from the village of "Pasveh" in Piranshahr, were taken to an unknown place after being kidnapped by Iranian government forces.
These Mullahs' detainees have been reported in connection with the statement from the Mullahs of Piranshahr, Oshnavieh, and Naghadeh, condemning the suppression of recent popular protests and resistance.
In this statement, executions, arbitrary arrests, torture of prisoners, and the issuance of heavy sentences by Iranian government institutions were mentioned.
Until now, there has been no reliable information on the fate and whereabouts of these four Kurdish Mullahs.
