Ibrahim Janeh-Fard, from Bokan, has been sentenced to imprisonment

The Iranian Criminal Court in Bokan has sentenced Ibrahim Janeh-Fard to two years of imprisonment.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, April 25, 2023, the branch 110 of the Iranian criminal court in Bokan sentenced Ibrahim Janeh-Fard to two years in prison.

Irbahim is from Rahim Khan village in Bokan county; he was charged with alleged connections and cooperation with a Kurdish party.

Mr. Janeh Fard had been an active member of a Kurdish opposition party in the past but quit the party and returned to Iran about a year ago.

After returning home, Mr. Janeh Fard was arrested by the Iranian authorities in 2022 and later released on bail, awaiting trial.
