Masoumeh Soleimani, a citizen from Khorramabad and holder of the world bronze medal in Alysh wrestling in Kazakhstan, was arrested for the second time by the Iranian government forces and taken to an unknown location.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, Masoumeh Soleimani, a referee and wrestling coach, was arrested by the Iranian government forces in Khorramabad city of Lorestan province.

No precise information has been made available about the reasons for the arrest or the charges against Mrs. Soleimani yet.

Masoumeh Soleimani was arrested on November 16, 2019, during nationwide protests, and spent 32 days in Khorramabad Central Prison without the right to receive visits.

It should be noted that this former wrestling champion was banned from sports fields for six months after returning from the World Wrestling Championships in February 2020.
