In June 2023, at least 52 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons. compared to the previous month a 63% decrease with 142 cases has been recorded.
According to the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw, 51 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons, and one prisoner was publicly hanged in Deylam in June 2023.
Of the total number of executed prisoners, 14 of them equivalent to 27% of total cases were Baloch citizens and at least 5 of them, equivalent to 10% of total cases, including the Kurdish political prisoner Hemin Mustafai, were Kurdish citizens.
According to this report, the highest number of death sentences was recorded in Kerman Central Prison with seven cases. Similarly, five executions were recorded in Rajai prisons in Karj and Adelabad prisons in Shiraz, while four and three executions were recorded in Zahedan and Kahnouj prisons.
