The implementation of the death penalty for Jahedullah Maaruf, an Afghan national previously convicted of drug trafficking and homicide, took place at Isfahan Central Prison. This particular case marks the execution of at least 10 Afghan nationals in Iranian prisons since the beginning of the year.
According to a report obtained by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, the execution verdict for Jahedullah Maaruf, an Afghan inmate, was carried out at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan in the early hours of Saturday, July 15th, 2023.
