Keyvan Rahimian, a Baha'i adherent and lecturer at the Baha'i University, was detained by Iranian government forces in Tehran. He is a former political prisoner from the Baha'i community.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, On Wednesday, July 18, 2023, Keyvan Rahimian, a 58-year-old Baha'i adherent from Tehran, was arrested by the Iranian government forces in this city.
 

This university lecturer, who is also a former Baha'i political prisoner, announced his transfer to Evin Prison in Tehran during a brief phone call following his arrest.
 

It is worth mentioning that Keyvan Rahimian's father was executed in 1984 for religious reasons. In 2004, both Keyvan Rahimian and his wife were detained for a period of time by the governmental institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

Keyvan Rahimian, a psychology master's degree student, was sentenced before to five years in prison in 2012 on the charge of "Association and Collusion against National Security." In 2017, he was subsequently released from Rajaei-Shahr Prison in Karaj after completing his five-year term of imprisonment.
