Saeede Shafiei and Nasim Sultanbeigi, two female journalists, have been sentenced to four years and three months in prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, resulting in a cumulative sentence of eight years and six months in prison.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, Recently, Saeede Shafiei and Nasim Sultanbeigi, both female journalists, were sentenced to 8 months in prison by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari. The charges against them included "propaganda against the regime," resulting in a sentence of 8 months, and "association and collusion," which led to a sentence of three years and 7 months. Consequently, each of them has been sentenced to a total of 4 years and 3 months of imprisonment.
 

It should be noted that these two journalists have been banned from membership in political and social groups for two years and are also prohibited from leaving the country during that period, as part of the additional punishments.
 

Furthermore, Mehrnoosh Zarei Hanzaki, another defendant in this case, has been acquitted of all imputed charges.
 

The hearing regarding the accusations against these three journalists took place on July 3 of this year at Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. Subsequently, the verdicts were recently communicated to them.
