Iranian authorities arrested female activists for the second times in past year

Ziba Qlij-Khani, a civil activist from Bijar, has once again been arrested and transferred to Sanandaj prison by government forces. Last year, she was also detained by government forces during the Jin Jiyan Azadi movement.

According to a report from the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, the 17th of August, 2023, Ziba Qlij-Khani, the female civil activist from Bijar, was arrested by Iranian government forces.
 

Informed sources state that after  arrested and charged in the Bijar court, Ziba Qlij-Khani was transferred to the Sanandaj Rehabilitation and Education Center, where she currently remains in custody.
 

This female civil activist was detained during the widespread protests in Bijar on Tuesday, the 20th of September, 2022, and subsequently transferred to the Sanandaj Rehabilitation and Education Center. Later, she was temporarily released on bail of one billion and ultimately, in mid-winter of last year she was set free through a decree known as "amnesty."
