Two brothers from Kamyaran, identified as Hissam Karami and Sirvan Karami, the relatives of Burhan Karami, one of the victims of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (woman, life, freedom) movements, were arrested by the government forces.
According to a report received by the Henagw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, a 39-year-old man named Hissam Karmi from the village of "Chersaneh" in Kamyaran was arrested by the forces of the Iranian Intelligence Department.
In recent days, the 35-year-old brother of Hissam Karami, Sirvan Karmi, was arrested by the Kamyaran Intelligence Department's forces and released after being beaten. His social media accounts and mobile phone were confiscated, according to a reliable source.
So far, the reason for the arrest of these two cousins of Burhan Karami, a young man who died in the Kamyaran popular protests, has not been disclosed. The condition and whereabouts of Hissam Karami after his arrest are unknown.
Burhan Karmi, a 30-year-old resident of Kamyaran, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. He was shot three times in the head and neck on Zarneh Street by Iranian government forces.
