Nazila Haqkar, a Baha'i adherent and resident of Tehran, has been sentenced to five years in prison by the Islamic Republic of Iran's judicial system.
 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights, Nazila Haqkar, a Baha'i adherent hailing from Tehran, was sentenced to five years in prison on the charge of "membership in an illegal group for the purpose of disrupting security. She was condemned by the 29th branch of the Revolutionary Court of the city, which was headed by Judge Seyed Ali Mazloum.
 

After her appeal was accepted on August 20, 2023, for a reconsideration of her sentence, Nazila Haqkar's five-year prison sentence was confirmed once again.
 

According to sources, Nazila Haqkar's accusations include holding special classes for teaching children.
