Sa'dun Jamshidi, a Kurdish detainee during the Women, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement in Shahin Dej, has been handed an 80-flogging sentence by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sa'dun Jamshidi, a resident of Shahin Dej, was sentenced to 80 floggings by Branch 101 of Criminal Court No. 2 in the city, under the leadership of Judge Abedi.

An informed source has disclosed that Sa'dun Jamshidi is scheduled to go to the execution branch of the Shahin Dej Prosecutor's Office in the coming days to carry out the 80-flogging sentence.

Notably, Sa'dun Jamshidi endured severe torture by security agents during his two-week detention period.

On March 17, 2023, Sa'dun Jamshidi was detained at a checkpoint in Shahin Dej, where he was subjected to physical beatings. After a two-week imprisonment, he was released on bail, with the legal proceedings ongoing.
