Kurdish individual from Iraqi Kurdistan region was shot and killed by Iranian Border guards

Hamad Khdr, from the Kurdistan region of Iraq, was shot and killed by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran along the shared border area. Meanwhile, two other individuals who were with Mr. Hamad Khdr are missing, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Sunday afternoon, October 15th, 2023, Hamad Khdr, a 60-year-old from the village of "Razgeh" in Pshder in Sulaymaniyah province, in the Kurdistan region, was shot and killed by direct fire from Iranian border guards.

According to a source familiar with the situation, Hamad Khdr, along with two of his companions, had gone to the border heights for the purpose of buying and selling livestock when he was targeted by the Iranian forces.

The status of both companions remains unknown as of the time of this reporting, and efforts to obtain information about them are ongoing.
