The death sentences of two inmates, Hamid Tekavar and Jalil NautiZehi, previously sentenced to death for drug trafficking offenses, have been carried out in the central prisons of Karaj and Isfahan.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Monday, October 30, 2023, the death sentence of an inmate named Hamid Tekavar, 31 years old, was executed in Karaj Central Prison.

Simultaneously, in Isfahan Central Prison, the death sentence of a Baloch inmate named Jalil NautiZehi, aged 30 and a resident of Zahedan, was also carried out.

According to the Baloch activists campaign, Jalil NautiZehi had been detained since 2017 on charges related to drug trafficking and was later sentenced to death by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The other inmate had also previously been sentenced to death on similar charges.

Hamid Tekavar was transferred to solitary confinement for the execution of his sentence on Saturday, October 28th and Jalil NautiZehi was moved to solitary cell also on Friday October 27th.

As of the time of compiling this report, the execution of these two inmates has not been announced in government-affiliated media, especially media outlets close to the judiciary.
