Eight individuals who adhere to the Baha'i faith and are residents of Karaj have been detained by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These individuals have been identified as Iman Ehsani, Iren Rahmani, Reza Yazdi, Fahima Yazdi, Sohba Taif, Nika Ismailpour, Shervin Shabrukh, and Babak Zeinali.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Sohba Taif, Nika Ismailpour, Shervin Shabrukh, Babak Zeinali, Iman Ehsani, Iren Rahmani, Reza, and Fahima Yazdi, all of whom are Baha'i adherents residing in Karaj, were apprehended during this operation.
Reliable sources have indicated that these eight individuals were taken into custody by security agents in the Mehrshahr neighborhood of Karaj, and their homes were subjected to searches by these forces.
