Execution of Two Inmates in Kashan Prison

The death sentences of Saber Alikhani and Khodadad Rahimi, both previously condemned for drug-related offenses, were carried out in Kashan Central Prison.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday morning, October 8, 2023, Saber Alikhani, 31, and Khodadad Rahimi, 40, were executed in Kashan Central Prison in Isfahan province.
Saber Alikhani, apprehended approximately two years ago, and Khodadad Rahimi, arrested three years ago, were sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran for their involvement in drug-related crimes, according to the Iran Human Rights Organization.
The execution of at least 78 prisoners in Iranian prisons during October 2023 took place, as documented by the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
