Abdul Qadir Khonsard, a Kurdish athlete from Saqqez City and a former member of Iran's Muay Thai team, has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison by the Iranian Judiciary for his participation in the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement. He’s also sentence to one year year in exile. 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, recently Abdul Qadir Khonsard, the winner of two World Muay Thai Championships medals, was sentenced to a total of two years and six months in prison by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Saqqez for the charges of "propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran" and "insulting Khamenei". He is also sentenced to one year in exile in the city of Sosangerd, Khuzestan Province. 

According to an informed source, Abdul Qadir Khonsard, who is currently serving his prison term in Saqqez prison with another case, was recently accused of participating in the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement, with the opening of a new case and the imposition of a judicial sentence is facing two years and six months of imprisonment

Abdul Qadir Khonsard won two bronze medals in 2010 and 2012 in the world championships of Thailand and Uzbekistan with the Iranian Muay Thai team.
