The death sentence of at least two inmates was implemented in Ghezel Hesar prison

The death sentences of two Kurdish inmates, identified as Eghbal Fathollahi from Ilam and Mohsen Amraie from Kouhdasht, were carried out in Karaj Ghezel Hesar prison. These two inmates were previously sentenced to death for drug-related crime charges.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday morning, November 28, 2023, the death sentences of Eghbal Fathollahi (a resident of Ilam) and Mohsen Amraie from Garavand (Kouhdasht city) were carried out in Karaj Ghezel Hesar prison. These prisoners were taken into custody five years ago under a shared case for drug-related crimes charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Alongside these prisoners, yesterday two other inmates, identified as Hamid Bakhshayesh and Milad Nabati, were transported to solitary confinement. These prisoners were also sentenced to death for drug-related and homicide charges, and as of now, there is no information on their condition.
There has not been any news coverage on these executions until the release of this news, particularly in government media outlets and those that are affiliated with the judicial system of the I.R.I.
