Fereshteh Hosseini, a resident of Bukan city, previously sentenced to imprisonment by the Judicial System of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has been taken into custody and transferred to the women's ward of Urmia Prison to serve her detention sentence.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Monday, December 11, 2023, 39-year-old Fereshteh Hosseini from Bukan was arrested following a summons by the Court of Execution of Sentences. She has been transported to the Women's Ward of Urmia Prison to serve her 8-month detention sentence.

Fereshteh Hosseini was initially arrested on August 24, 2022, by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She was later released on bail of 100 million toman on September 11, 2022, pending the conclusion of her trial.

This Kurdish activist received an 8-month detention sentence for the charge of "propaganda against the government" from Branch 101 of the Criminal Court of Bukan, presided over by Judge Amir Keshawarzi Dilmaghani.
