Ashkan Fahim, a young Kurdish man from Mahabad, and Mohammad Tadayoni, from Marivan, who were arrested at the end of this summer, were each sentenced to 45 months in prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ashkan Fahim, a young Kurdish man from Mahabad, and Mohammad Tadayoni, from Marivan, were recently sentenced to 45 months in prison by the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Mahabad, headed by Judge Dosti, on charges of "assemblage and collusion".
Ashkan Fahim and Mohammad Tadyoni, who have spent the last three months in detention, were also sentenced to two years of exile as a supplementary punishment. Also, despite Ashkan Fahim's deteriorating health condition and his urgent need for treatment, the judge of the case refuses to accept bail for his temporary release and treatment of his condition.
It should be noted that these two young Kurdish men were subjected to physical and mental torture in the IRGC intelligence detention center located in the IRGC's Al-Mahdi barracks in Urmia, to obtain forced confessions.
Ashkan Fahim and Mohammad Tadayoni, along with two other citizens named Reza Andisheh and Rizgar Rahimian, were violently and assaulted arrested on the morning of Friday, September 15, 2023, in a house located in the neighborhood of Esteghlal Square in Mahabad, Reza Andisheh was transferred to Mahabad prison on October 15, 2023, and shortly after Ashkan Fahim, Rizgar Rahimian, and Mohammad Tadayoni were also transferred to the same prison. Reza and Rizgar were temporarily released on bail, and Ashkan and Mohammad are still detained in Mahabad prison.
