Sajad Imannejad, a Turkish protester from Ardabil who was detained during the Women, Life, Freedom movement, has been sentenced to eleven years in prison and ordered to pay a ransom of two billion and seven hundred million tomans by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sajad Imannejad, a 34-year-old resident of Tehran, was convicted by the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court on charges, including "moharebeh," and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Additionally, Sajad Imamejad, who is an architectural expert, faces a fine totaling 2 billion and 700 million tomans, labeled as compensation for the seven government armed forces. It is noteworthy that three of the suspects involved have asserted that Imannejad did not cause harm, with their refusal to testify solely attributed to the possession of a "self-sacrifice card."
Despite Imannejad's severe physical ailments, such as lumbar disc issues, the authorities at Evin prison have declined requests to transfer him to external medical facilities for treatment, causing significant distress for the injured protester's family.
The arrest of Sajad Imannejad occurred on October 8, 2022, during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement in Sadeghieh, Tehran. Subsequently, he was initially detained in Tehran Prison before being transferred to Evin Prison.
