The death sentences of two prisoners whose identities have been confirmed as Asghar Abdullah Parikhani and Abbas Faraj Oghli, were executed in the central prison of Meshginshahr, Ardabil province. These two prisoners were previously sentenced to death for drug-related charges.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentence of Asghar Abdullah Parikhani, 28 years old and a resident of Meshginshahr, was carried out in the central prison of this city at dawn on Friday, December 29, 2023.
According to an informed source, Asghar Abdullah Parikhani was arrested 4 years ago for drug-related charges and then sentenced to death.
Before that, the death sentence of Abbas Faraj Oghli, 30 years old and from Parsabad, Ardabil province, was carried out in Mashginshahr prison on the morning of Monday, December 25, 2023.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, Abbas Faraj Oghli was arrested 3 years ago on similar charges and sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
So far, the report of the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced in the Iranian state media and the media affiliated with the judiciary.
