The death sentence of Mohsen Mehri, a Kurdish inmate, was carried out in Ilam Central Prison. Convicted of "homicide," he had received the death penalty from the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the execution took place in the central prison of Ilam.
Mohsen Mehri had been in custody for the past five years, charged with the murder of his brother during a dispute, leading to the death sentence by the Iranian judicial system.
Despite the execution, there has been no coverage of this event in government-affiliated media outlets or those associated with the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
