Hengaw Report No.6 on the Kurdistan protests, 15 dead and 733 injured

On September 21, 2022, while protesting, the Islamic Republic of Iran's armed forces shot and killed at least 8 Kurdish demonstrators. The same forces also imprisoned dozens more people and injured more than 281 people.


According to a report acquired by the Hengaw human rights organizaion, the security forces of Iran responded to yesterday's demonstrations by killing at least 8 protesters, including two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, in the cities of Urmia, Shno,West Islamabad, and Ivangharb.
 

The names of the fatalities, as confirmed by Hengaw, are as follows: Saeid Mohammadi, Mohsen Qaisari, Amin Maraft (16), Milan Haqiqi, Sadruddin Litani, Abdulla Mhammadpour (15), Matin Abdullapour and, Dansh Rahnima.
 

Cities where protests have been shot and killed:

Urmia: Farjad darwishi, Abdulla Mohammadpour, Matin Abdullapour, ans Dansh Rahnima.

Shno- Urmia province: Amin Marafat (16 years old), Milan Haqiqi, and Sadruddin Litani.

Diwandara: Foad Qadimi and  Mohsen Mohammadi

Saqez: Faridoun Mahmoudi

Kermashan: Mino Majidi

West Islamabad: Saeid Mohammadi

Ilam: Mohsen Qaisari

Dehgolan: Reza Lotfi

Piranshahr: Zakarya Khayal


According to Hengaw Human Rights Organization statistics, at least 12 cities took to the streets on Wednesday 21 September, including Abdanan, Ilam, Kermashan, Sanandej, Urmia, Qurue, Rabt, Sardasht, Piranshahr, Shno, Paveh, West Islamabad, Ivangharb and Bokan, to protest the state kill of a 22-year-old girl from Saqqez. After government forces intervened, the protests turned violent, with at least eight protesters killed and 281 others injured.


Another protester has been slain, according to Hengaw sources, and his body is at Khumaini Hospital in Shno. Members of the Hengaw team are also investigating reports that several protesters have been killed in West Islamabad.

 Statistics for the last Five days in general:
According to Hengaw Human Rights Organization's Statistics and Documents Center, Fivteen Kurdish protestors have died as a result of direct fire from government forces in the last Five days, with 733 people injured. Many injured people have not visited medical centers for fear of being arrested by security forces, but their videos and photos have been provided to Hengaw, and some of them have been published on the organization's social media.

 Over 600 Kurdish protesters have been arrested in the last five days:


According to Hengaw Human Rights Organization's Statistics and Documents Center, over the last five days, more than 600 Kurdish citizens have been arrested by security agencies, and the identities of more than100 of them have been verified for Hengaw and will be published in a separate report. 
 
Hangaw maintains that more people have been injured, detained, and even slain in Kurdistan's cities.
